The
N11 passes through the Glen of the Downs just south of Killmacannogue.
The Glen is steep-sided and is wooded with mainly beech trees. Kindlestown
Wood to the east of the glen is coniferous and is connected to
the Glen of the Downs wood by a short public lane through farmland.
The Bellevue Estate between the two areas is private and is out of bounds.
The
Setanta map covers the east side of the Glen and Kindlestown. It was
first used for the Club Championships in September 2004. Some more survey
work is required to complete the mapping and this will be done later
in 2005
